Free VoIP Long Distance Calls during Holidays

We discussed about Poketalk a few weeks back. We have noticed they made significant improvement in call quality and call length.

You can now make free VOIP Long distance calls for upto 10 minutes to over 55 destination. The only limitation, the calls can originated from specific locations about 10 countries only.

Since the holidays are approaching, PokeTalk is now offering customers double the amount of free calls — 100 calls per month from November 24th through December 31st. That adds up to more than 16 hours of free calls from landline or mobile phones.

Poketalkallows per call to be upto 10 minutes.

If you don't know how PokeTalk works, here is the simple explanation:

1) Register at PokeTalk
2) Enter your Phone Number
3) Enter Party's number
4) Your phone will ring
5) Then PokeTalk will call your party.
6) Both are connected and can talk upto 10 minutes.

PokeTalk is a good option to call countries like Brazil etc and of course thailand (mobile) :-). Make the most of these offers coz they don't last long.

VOIPZoom offers free international calls

Betamax has yet again launched another VOIP service before the holiday VOIP traffic reaches it momentum. Typically during novembeer-December, VOIP and Telecom providers around the world see massive increase in VOIP traffic.

Thanks to RameshKumar for heads up on this one. VOIPZoom is currently offering free international calls to over 41 destinations around the world at a flat monthly fee of € 2.50/month(Euro)/3.19 USD. That means as long as you pay the flat monthly free you would be able to make free international calls to these 40 destinations.

For Other countries, you need to top-up more credit. Currently they are offering calls to India at 2.5 USD Cents for both landline and mobile. Not the cheapest but not bad.

Please note VOIPZoom FUP (Fair Use Policy) is registered users get max 300 minutes per week of free calls, measured over the last 7 days and per unique IP address.

We couldn't find any SIP info, however strongly feel they are using one of the existing infrastructure for VOIPZoom, most likely voipraider or voipbuster SIP server. Anyone knows VOIPZoom SIP info? do let us know or post under comments.

3.19 USD for 1200 minutes of calls per month to 40+ destinations works great. If you are already using VOIPzoom, do let us know if you are satisfied with them. I am most likely going to buy some credit this weekend to try this out.

You can download VOIPZoom directly using this link..

Jaduka DukaUS launched Free Conference Calls

Jaduka is back with another VOIP app, this time for making Web based Conference Calls. They have launched another Labs product to make totally free conference calls in USA and Canada.

Jaduka is known for VOIP applications such as EarthCaller, DukaDial etc. One of the most innovative and quality driven approach to build world class VOIP application has always been their motive. We have always supported them.

DukaUS, the new free conference call service will let you make totally free conference calls to upto 5 participants. dukaUS automatically calls each guest and invites them to join your conference. Just like any other Jaduka apps, DukaUS is easy to use. No Reseveration based conference calls, no tedious conference bridge settings. You are good to go with a few mouse clicks.

At this time, DukaUS conference calling service supports United States and Canadian telephone numbers ONLY. Each account is allocated a maximum of 30 minutes per day of group calling. Not bad really.

. Call quality is very good because they are not using VOIP, but the regular telephone network to connect calls—and no one gets charged for minutes—you don't get charged and neither do the people you conference. You can create and moderate free telephone conferences for up to 5 people.

How to use DukaUS Free Conference Call Service?
1) In order to use DukaUS Free Conference Call service, you need to register an account at Jaduka Labs
2) In Conference Leader, Put your name and Phone Number.
3) Under Participant, Put their name and Phone number.
4) You can do conference call with upto 5 people.
5) Then click Start Conference. The Call will be placed to you first and then to rest of the 5 conference call participants. Everyone will be connected and conference call can then begin for 30 minutes.

Future of HD Video Conferencing

As we said earlier, Video Conferencing Market is growing rapidly and will continue to grow at 20%-30% YOY growth when companies are switching to Video Conference callFacilities instead of flying around people to their offices.

The annual savings on Travel can surely contribute towards building a in-house Video Conferencing system. The leaders being Tandberg and Polycom for Video Conference Facilities and in Web Based commercial conference systems, WebEx and GoToMeeting has significant share. However don't yet rule out interesting Conference2.0 Products such as DimDim(built by Indians).

Once companies move to Video Conferencing and with the latest craze about HDTV Video, more and more video conferencing companies are looking to make HD Video conferencing a possibility. Companies such as Vidyo claim to offer HD Video conferencing at 60 frames/second over the internet. Of course, all thanks to the latest technology H.264 standard for video compression which allows you tranfer compressed data over Video conference. In VOIP, companies like FlashPhone are implementing Video Conference Calls over SIP using H.263.

HD Video Conferencing physical facilities are however scarce at the moment and its very unlikely that companies would invest considering global slowdown. It would take some time for companies like Vidyo, Lifesize, Polycom and Tandberg to actually make a bigger headway in this market. However, this would become a huge market by 2012 and would most likely overtake the Traditional Video Conference facilities.

Innovation is the key. There are Workgroups already working on improving H.264 to H.265. H.265 would be desired to be 50% more efficient than H.264 in delivery a Video Conference. Either way, Video Conferencing would be huge in the coming days.

FreeBuzzer offers free international VOIP Calls

It seems once again the FREE VOIP space is heating up with new free international voip calls providers. With Betamax joining the FREE VOIP movement once again, its even more interesting.

VOIPax is a betamax subsidiary(?) has launched FreeBuzzer, a totally free international VOIP calls. FreeBuzzer claims that they offer free international calls to over 40 countries around the world. The best part is it doesn't need a VOIP softphone. Just use it from the web as a Phone to Phone Service.

Enter your phone number and enter other party's number and Click Call. FreeBuzzer will call you phone and then connect you to the other party. However I noticed they radomly limit your call limit, probably based on the destination you call. There is a limit per IP. They also ask you to signup for VOIPax :-(

I only managed to make a few minutes of calls within Singapore. However when trying later, it throws an error that Free Trial calls are limited. It seems they only allow upto 10-20 minutes of free trial calls in a day.

Cheap VOIP International Calls to India at 2.95 Cents

Finally We can confirm that VOIP Providers have started the pricewar in VOIP industry. With every other VOIP service Provider is lowering calling rates,Its the best time for the consumer and we aint complaining :-)

Tringme, VOIP Provider from India has lowered calling rates to as low as 1 cents per minute and you can now call India at 2.95 cents per minute. Possibly the best rate available in the market today. Don't compare Tringme with Betamax, there are many hidden charges with Betamax and obviously the risk of loosing your account :-(

Some new Calling Rates by Tringme, are as follows:

India: 2.95 cents
US: 1 cent
Uk: 1 cent
Singapore: 1 cents
China: 1.3 cents

This offer is applicable to existing and new customers both.

I have also noticed that lately, Tringme has improved a lot on their call quality. Nothing much to say here, Just give them a try, and save some money in this economy. Penny saved is penny earned.

Tringme Calling Rates is possibly a trigger in this highly competitive Cheap International call market, we might possibly see reactions from other providers such as Local Phone etc. Wait and watch and lets hope that calling India will become 1 cents per minute soon.

Voxox offers Free VOIP and Video Conferencing

While lurking around to find the next big VOIP Provider, we noticed a new Free VOIP Calls and Video Conferencing Provider who is giving away 1200 mins of Free VOIP calls.

VoxOx is a Free Phone Service and Video Conferencing Service. A San Diego-based telecom provider, Telcentris, Inc has launched their public beta of a web-based calling service, VoxOx. Interesting they also offer a VoxOx Phone number (USA Phone number) which you can take with you anywhere and forward calls to your regular phone. This service is called VoxOx Reach Me.

VoxOx is aiming for the big fish Skype. They are trying to get you out of the Skype hangover and get your settled within their Free VOIP application. As a part of the beta, they are offering 2 Hours of Free international calls. Please note they are still have issues with their Web Portal Login however their VoxOx application works fine which will let you call and make Video conference calls.

On a whole, Looks like a good application but needs some quick dirty fixes to get it running smoothly. I can say, A long way to go to get Skype out of the market. Many people tried without any luck, you are the next one in the pipeline.

I always Skype won't be beaten by anyone but themselves. MARK MY WORD.

No more consolidation in VOIP Industry?

Have you noticed recently no more consolidation, takeover or mergers happening in VOIP space? What is the reason? Where is the Venture Capital Money going?

I have read many post recently who talk about Future of VOIP, VOIP is no more interesting kinda stuff. You hear that from Skype, which makes me mad. Who says there is no more innovation in VOIP? There is indeed and i am confident it won't be coming from the good old VOIP providers like Skype or Vonage. These companies are going to enjoy their retirement time soon.

After the Ribbit takeover by British Telecom couple of months back, we haven't really seen any action in VOIP industry. No more takeover, mergers, buy-outs, its suddenly a quiet space. Besides of course, companies spending more time for technology improvements. For that matter and for a change, lot less news from Jajah (i call them media monster, they release PR more than I write articles lol).

So where is all the money going? Why Venture Capitalist or Large Telecom companies are shying away from buying VOIP companies? Don't give me the obvious answer: Credit Crunch and Recession. I know this time around, Its different. Its all about the Money and it's hurting from bottom up. I spoke to a CEO of large telecom company in India and he said, they are targetting to cut down expediture by 50% by May by reducing employees and ad budgets. I personally think both are wrong choices.

Let me tell you why? I personally do not believe in the so called concept of "Cost Cutting by the way of employee lay-offs and Ad budget curbing". You lose the asset in either way. If you stop spending ads during recession, You will most likely to lose customers when the markets comes back to normal, coz the brand awareness is washed out. The best way to look at it is by buying ads when the rest of the market is doing the obvious. Venture Capitalist on the other hand waiting for the right "investment", which they will mostly likely not to find :-)

Unfortunately, you will see more fallouts in the VOIP industry than ever. There are many VOIP firms who will actually do well if they know how to exactly promote their services to consumers. It doesn't matter if its recession or not, every market has its potential and you need to understand it well.

I hope some of the younger companies actually focus more on building better technology during this tough time and expect to reap rewards when the market is back-up. Either way, VOIP is destined to replace your good old telephony line and even GOD can't stop it. PERIOD!

Sify Talk offers unlimited Calls to USA UK Canada

While reading Earnings Report as part of my daily reading, I noticed that Sify has a interesting VOIP service called Sify Talk which seem to be offer unlimited Free international calls to USA, UK and Canada.

Sify Talk is part of Satyam-Sify venture and monthly VOIP plans. For about Rs.499, you can make unlimited calls to one number in US, UK (LandLine only) or Canada. In USA and Canada, you can call mobile phones as well. In addition to the inlimited calls, You will also get Rs.300 worth calling to other international numbers.

Don't yet jump all over, You MUST read the fine print before you signup for this service.

1) You can make unlimited calls ONLY to 1 number, which you must choose while signing up.Request to change the "unlimited number" can be made only after 30 days .
2) SifyTalk at present can be used for only outgoing calls to international destination. However if you know their SIP address, you might as well be able to receive calls. Hint: Check ATA configuration which should technically have SIP address, then try making calls via any other SIP provider. Just use SIP URI to make the calls to verify the SIP service is working, then expriment with other mechanism such as ENUM.
3)Sify Talk is only available in Chennai, Bangalore, Vizag, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chandigarh,Hyderabad and Ludhiana.
4)There is a one time Fee for ATA Rs.1599/-. Try finding out if they allow you to use your own ATA, i doubt

If anyone is currently using Sify Talk, your feedback is appreciate so readers can make a proper decision.

How to Call RingPlus Free VOIP International Call Gateway

Ring Plus is definately the most read post on VOIP Guide last week, primarily because they offer the best free international voip call anywhere in the world. However I noticed some people are confused about How to use Ring Plus from outside USA or call their USA number via one of the free international call program to save on local call cost.

Let's look at various options to call RingPlus Access numbers:

1) Gizmo5 Backdoor Dialing: Gizmo5 has one of the best feature which keeps me with them, the backdoor dialing. Its just like good ol' VOIP hacking, well sorta. Since there are lot of Digital home phone providers like PhonePower, Lingo etc which run on VOIP and obviously there are numbers are ported on the VOIP network, easily accessible for In-Network calling or SIP-SIP calling. Gizmo5 uses this loophole (or should i say technology) to dial these numbers out for FREE, coz SIP to SIP is always a free call.

However not all ?USA numbers are not under backdoor dialing, there are about 11% phone provider in usa are covered under Gizmo5 backdoor dialing. We need to find out which Ring Plus number is always for backdoor dialing. You can check it out at Gizmo 5.To give you one quick ready number which works on Gizmo5 is +12024460316. Wait, you need to dial with a prefix like call this number for free by dialing 0101-2024460316. This way you can call this number without any restriction and it does not have any limit on time. Once you are connected to Ring Plus Gateway, validate your login and start making calls.

2) DukaDial: This works only for americans. If you don't have unlimited USA phone plan with your home phone line, you would end up paying some money while calling Ring Plus. Let's avoid it, I am assuming there are no cost for receiving calls.
Use DukaDial to make free calls to any usa number, its a phone to phone service. Enter your number and then enter destination number (Ring Plus Gateway). DukaDial will first call you and then call ringplus number this way you would save on the local call cost as well :-)

3)EarthCaller: Works for anywhere in the world. However you need IE7 for earthcaller to work. Extremely simple, login and start making calls to Ring plus gateway.

4)Mediaringtalk: You need to download their softphone. Gives you 10 min per call, you can dial the same number again and again upto 4-5 times max within a day.

Let me know if i missed out a VOIP Provider which can possibly give free calls to ring plus gateway.

Now it doesn't matter where you live you can use Ring Plus and make calls anywhere in the world including India. The call quality can make some of the large VOIP provider think twice about their infrastructure :-)

FreeRinger offers Free International Calls to 30 countries

Today we discuss about a VOIP Servicee called FreeRinger which basically hijacks into Talkster's Free international calling platform.

Whats the difference between FreeRinger and Talkster? The only difference is the caller now is not tied to the Phone. Talkster needs you to use their service via Phone but now FreeRinger allows you to bypass the Talkster gateway and connect directly to your party. However the rest of the communication is still carried on the Talkster platform that means the other party still needs to call into talkster to be connected to your call.

I see Free Ringer as a good altenative if you are already using Talkster and confortable with their platform and the way they work. FreeRinger is powered by Gtalk2VOIP and Talkster. We always said that Gtalk2VOIP is a strong VOIP platform which can hook into anything and we have successfully designed many hacks using their forwarding platform.

For newbies, Lets understand how you can possibly make free international calls using FreeRinger:

1. Enter your friend's phone number in international format: country code followed by area code followed by local number. Examples: 16502345678 is for USA/California, 442012345678 is for UK/London.

2. Press Call button. If this phone number is not yet listed on your roster, a subscription process will be initiated and new contact created.

3. Upon success a new Talkster number will be allocated for your friend to reach you back on the web. A phone call will be placed to your friend's phone number and you will hear a voice prompt informing you on call progress.

4. Once connected, you will have 10 seconds to tell your friend to call you right back to their Talkster number, while you are staying on hold and waiting. Your friend will learn their Talkster number from: a) SMS message sent during subscription, b) CallerID displayed to them, c) you can tell them their Talkster number.

5. After your friend calls you back, the system will connect you both again and you may talk as much as you want.

6. Press Hangup button at any time to terminate your call.

7. Click on a contact and press Call to initiate another call to same number.

Besides this, You can now also call other SIP URI. 1. by entering SIP address in phone number input box, or 2. by providing SIP URI in the URL, like: http://freeringer.biz/?callto=echo@gizmoproject.com

Of course, Free Ringer will only allow you to call 30 countries which fall under the Talkster allowed country list, mainly USA, Canada and most of the european countries.

Overall, I would qualify Free Ringer as add-on service to talkster platform than a stand alone VOIP service.

Ring Plus offers free international calls

Just in time for your festive calls need, we found a provider who would let you make absolutely free voip international call in lieu of advertisements.

I mentioned this many times that VOIP Providers are now moving towards the advertisement based model to cover up cost and if possible make some profit out of the free international calls service.

Ring Plus is one of the latest entrants in the free international calls space. They provide totally free international calls service to any country in the world (assume that some premium numbers are blocked, most likely calls to africa/UK mobile would be blocked). It's not one of those quick start scam free calls services like evaphone. Evaphone is probably the biggest scam ever hit the Free VOIP space. Seriously their 5 secs of free international calls is a joke.

Ring Plus however allows you to make calls to many countries and each call can last upto an hour. Ring Plus basically replaces the ring tone with advertisement, so when you make calls with Ring Plus. Ring plus tries to connect to your calling party but instead of you hearing a ring on their phone, you hear the advertisement which is basically replacing the ring, thereby cutting down the wait time for you. The call is then connected and you can talk for upto 1 hour. I am sure this varies with destination.

However there is a catch. You need to literally open your personal information to Ring Plus. Very similar to Plumble which hijacks your conversation. Ring Plus asks for personal information in order to personalise your Advertisement. If you are a college student, be ready to listen to College Loan Consolidation Service Ad.

Ring Plus is only available in the USA and I would say they would restrict to USA only. We strongly suggest you give them a try and let us know your experience with Ring Plus.

LocalPhone reduces international calling rates

Many VOIP Providers are currently running promotions by cutting international call rates due to festive season but LocalPhone has decided to cut down rates flat-out across 100 calling destinations.

Local Phone has fast gained popularity among VOIP users all over the world for it's simplicity and honestly my favorite VOIP provider at the moment. Really awesome call quality. There are however issues with their access numbers once in a while, I believe its actually with the DTMF tones while dialing account number/PIN, but after a few tries it works OK.

Local Phone has reduced rates to various destinations by over 20%.

Some of the new rates to destionations:

1) Australia 1.6c 1c
2) India 5c 3.9c
3) Pakistan 8.9c 7.1c
4) Thailand 1.5c 1.2c

It's really a good deal at 3.9 cents per minute with high quality calls and you can call using your landline or mobile phone. Local Phone has access numbers in many countries.

There are no special offers for Diwali however 3.9 cents per minute to India will stay beyong diwali so its a allout reduced rates.

We strongly suggest you give them try. If you are currently using LocalPhone, let us know your experience.

600 Mins Free Calls to India

As promised, This is our best offer for making free calls to India during Diwali. Total 600 minutes of Free Calls to India just for you. Don't miss this offer, You will regret later.

As most of you already know, we have some great relationship with Pingo and have arranged some exclusive contest in the past such as 10000 Free minutes giveaway etc and people have really enjoyed those offers. Its diwali time, we don't want you to sit at home watching TV, we instead want you to make calls to your loved ones in India for FREE. This is possible today becoz of Pingo.

We have had several discussions during the last few days and have finally drafted out this offer. There are in fact multiple offers to choose from, you may chose that suits you the most.

Please note our Coupon Code gets applied automatically, if not you can double confirm by using our code: voipguide.

1) Diwali Offer -600 minutes Free Calls to India: Use coupon code voipguide. You will get 200 Free minutes to India. The offer is valid only to new customers that sign up for $20 minimum, making effective rate of 4c to India with an additional $13 bonus. Total talktime would be $33 for $20 of credit. This offer can be repeated for 3 months, thats means each month you top-up $20, you will get 200+ mins Free Calls to India each on Top of the $20 credit. Total 600 minutes in 3 months.

Remember to use coupon code: voipguide.

Let me again put this:

Month 1: You put $20, you get $33 talktime (200 mins of Free Calls to India)
Month 2: You recharge $20, you get $33 talktime (200 mins of Free Calls to India)
Month 3: You recharge $20, you get $34 talktime- Loyalty bonus (215 mins of Free Calls to India)

If you recharge for 3 months, you would end up getting around $40 or 600 minutes Free Calls to India. Pingo offers 6.5 cents to India but with this offer, the effective rate for calling India would be around 4 cents.

The biggest benefit of Pingo over others is simplicity of service.

1) You can use Pingo via your regular phone by dialing their access numbers (all around the world) unlike other providers who have limited access numbers. You can use your Pingo account from anywhere in the world, you can dial local access numbers. That means you can buy the card and gift to your family and friends.

2) Another value benefit is Pingo doesn't charge you connection fees (Betamax charges 5 cents on most of it's services). You end up paying higher with connection fees. There are no hidden cost on Pingo. What you have is what you get.

3) PIN-Less dialing with Pingo offers flexibility.

4) Pingo also launched a Pingo Softphone so if you are a PC fanatic and prefer to talk as PC to Phone service, that you can download Pingo Softphone. This way you can share your username with your family back in India and they can also benefit from using Pingo.

YouTring offers Cheap India Calls Plan

We have seen some massive improvement in VOIP Providers offering India specific calling plans and call rates have decreased significantly in the range of 3-4 cents per minute.

India is no more the betamax monopoly. Betamax still offers 2 cents per minute on CallEasy and freecall offering at 1.5 cents per minute.

There is upcoming VOIP Provider (they do much more) called YouTring who are offering India Calling plan. They have slashed the rates during diwali to 3.25 cents per minute when you buy specific amount of Plan. Plans start from as low as $25. You can buy higher denominations such as $75 and $100. Each plan also gives you Free Talktime, for $25 you get 75 minutes free.

During diwali, we are most likely to make lot more calls and depending on one single provider during this extremely important season is not recommend. You must choose atleast 2 good VOIP Providers to make calls to India. YouTring seem like a decent option. However the only shortfall I see at this stage is Youtring can only be used via their branded TringPad softphone. This limits some callers who love to use Phone to Phone more than PC to Phone.

Please note if you are using Reliance India Call as a way of making calls to India, you are loosing a lot of money. It's way too costly compared to some of the new VOIP Providers who are throwing in rock bottom prices at good quality.

Some of the other VOIP Providers you might want to check out are LocalPhone and Tringme.

Whats you favorite VOIP Provider this Diwali? Let us know. We recommend YouTring as a good alternative.

DialSimple offers cheap international phone calls

With festive season across the corner, we are looking for ways to make cheap international calls to India also around the world. Today we talk about another such VOIP Provider called Dial Simple.

Dial Simple is a USA based International calling service that means the service is only available if you have a USA number(which is needed while registering) and can dial a USA access number. I will explain how to use this from outside USA.

DialSimple mainly works via Access Number in USA. When you signup at DialSimple, they allocate you acess number which you need to dial for making calls out.

Dial Simple can also give you local numbers for your international contacts, more like LocalPhone VOIP service. They are currently offering a special promotion under which you will get 15 minutes of talktime free when you signup.

They apparently also running a special promotion when you make your first payment to buy more talktime credit, they will top up your account with upto $50. This is a bit vague, upto $50 doesnt really mean anything, It can be from $1 to $50. So be a bit cautious if you like to buy some credit expecting $50 of bonus talktime.

Let's see how you can use their service.

1) Local Number for Your contacts:

a. Login and enter the international numbers where you frequently call in the Phone Mappings area provided on your home page. (one time process)

b. You will immediately see a local phone number corresponding to each international number.

c. Please store these local numbers in your phone book and call them directly from your registered phone to automatically connect to the corresponding international numbers.

2) Through Regular Dial:

a.Dial the access number.
b. When prompted, enter the destination number you want to call including the country code followed by the "#" key.

DialSimple also offers WebSMS service and worth checking. They are currently offering around 5.9 cents per minute to India.

If you are currently using DialSimple, do let us know your feedback. If not, go signup at Dialsimple.

Unlimited Calls to India Diwali Offer

Woot! It's Diwali Time and we are on the lookout for unlimited calls to India offers. We have already negotiated a great offer with Pingo which will be published soon.

Till we finalise our Pingo exclusive offer, Let's look at Pennytel's Talk till you Drop offer. We first mentioned about Pennytel last December and thousands of people started using their untimed talk offer. Today we briefly talk about their latest unlimited talktime offers.

Pennytel as most of you would know is a australian VOIP provider, but their service can be used anywhere in the world using a SIP Softphone (Check our 5 SIP Softphone you must download).

Pennytel has stopped offering the Unlimited Untimed Call offer a few months back but with diwali fast approaching, they seem to be relaunching the same offer.

You can now make untimed calls to India(incl mobile), Pakistan and Bangladesh at a rate of 38.88 AUD cents, which comes to around 27.30 US Cents per call. Please note this is per call. Your call is untimed that means there is no time limit on your call. Once you make a call talk as much as you want, Its unlimited call for 27.30 cents per minute. It's really a deal especially when people will be calling back home during diwali holidays.

With AUD going down the hill in recent forex transactions(I am also a forex dealer, FYI), you can expect to pay much less USD amount against AUD, so that's another good news.

For Information sake, Let me put down the Pennytel Offer and It's important that we analyse if there is any catch.

. Per call rates to over 140 destinations and now including India, Pakistan & Bangladesh
. Includes 50 FREE SMS monthly.
. 8cents untimed to over 70 destinations!
. Another 70 plus destinations for just 38.88 cents untimed!- This is for India,Pakistan and Bangladesh
. Free PennyTel to PennyTel Calls
. No commitment, contract or minimum terms
. No flagfall or connection fees!
. Per second billing - for destinations that are not untimed

I remember that Pennytel used to charge $5 per month as Membership cost which I believe they would continue to charge.

Pennytel also offers Access numbers in various countries but the system was damn buggy when I tried last time (Singapore number). You can try it all over again. They offer Shared Access numbers in Australia, USA, UK, Malaysia and Singapore.

For newbies, Pennytel works via SIP, so you need to setup a SIP Softphone (check our guide to setup a SIP Provider on SIP softphone)

Pennytel SIP Details:

SIP Proxy : sip.pennytel.com
Domain : sip.pennytel.com
SIP Register : Yes
Preferred Codec : g729, g723
Port : 5060

You can also setup Pennytel on your SIP Phone/VOIP Adapter or use their access numbers to dial out.

Please note, I spoke briefly with their customer support but it sucks. They have no clue whats available in their account page. DUH. Hope that doesnt stop you from trying them out :-)

Happy Diwali in Advance and let me wish you all a prosperous year ahead.

Secondly, hang on there, I am going to post another wild calling offer for Diwali.

Gizmo5 offers Free Conference Calls

Gizmo5 which is now powered by Jajah has launched another interesting Free Conference Call service to gain market share in this emerging market.

Free Conference Call is fast becoming a market to rave about. With recession clouds the financial markets, companies are looking to cut cost in every possible way and free conference calling simply helps cut down the travelling cost across offices/clients.

There are many web based conference call systems however they lack the traditional way of conference calling via phones. People still love it and would prefer that especially in corporate environment. People on the go want to call into a conference.

Gimzo5 seem to be targetting this market. A business consumer on the go and wants to hold a conference. Gizmo5 now enables anyone to use Gizmo5 free conference call system via Phone.

How to use Gizmo 5 Conference system?
1) Dial +1 (605) 475-8515, Gizmo5 users dial CONFERENCE. Then when prompted enter your conference room number. For Gizmo5 users, its a free calls since in network Gizmo5 to Gizmo5 calling.
2) You can call this number from anywhere in the world (local/Long Distance charges apply unless you use a free calling service for USA such as EarthCaller or DukaDial

4) You get a unique ID for your conference which you need to share withn your participant.
5)If you are not in USA, Gimzo5 participant can join from anywhere in the world and there is no limit.

Gizmo5 is another free conference call service but heck it works from our mobile so I would really like to stick to it. Had a 20 minute conference call with some friends and business partners and worked perfect without a glitch. Call quality is awesome, nothing more I can ask for when its FREE :-)

Tabrio offers Cheap International Call Services

We are really happy to see that more and more cheap VOIP Providers such as tabrio are launching every month, which creates some stiff competition in this market and in turn benefit us consumers.

Tabrio is one such company which offers a multi-usage VOIP platform (Web,Mobile,Phone to Phone or via Tabrio branded softphone). Eventually VOIP companies will move to the all-in-one model which integrates all these services under one roof.

Tabrio is currently offering $5 trial calls and SMS if you signup for their service. It's a trial to check their voice quality and service. We found Tabrio to be one of the good ones out there in terms of voice quality. $5 call credit can give you upto 30-60 minutes of call credit, of course depends on where you want to call.

We noticed that when you switch between their call model, the voice quality somewhat varies which could be because of the different routes using different technology to route calls. Web call works great. Tabrio Desktop version has good quality too. Outlook plugin sometimes works weird, but this could be because of the MS outlook issues. Seriously the best part of Tabrio service is it's interface, very sleek and professional. However to survive in this cheap international calls business you prolly need more than that :-)

Tabrio Mobile works via TXT based call-back system.

How to Make calls with Tabrio Mobile?

CALL number
CALL contact
Ex. 'CALL 17789877444' or 'CALL mom' (Here you obviously saved the contact number as mom in your adress book, which Tabrio will automatically recognise.)

A few thing Tabrio could do to make their service even better:

1)Make calling rates more competitive
2)Offer Text messages in-network FREE
3)Deliver Ads via Tabrio Desktop version and make calls to certain countries free. Make this geographic to make sure they make money :-)

Overall Tabrio has started on a good ground but there is lot to do. However this should not stop you from trying them. Try Tabrio today with $5 free call credit.

Reliance India Call Review and Promotion Coupons

Who doesn't know about Reliance India Call? It's one of the fastest growing Calling service for Indians abroad. Today, we closely do Reliance India Call Review.

For newbies, Reliance India Call is a service operated by Reliance Communications Limited. Reliance India Call recently changed their brand name to Reliance Global Call and they operate in over 8 countries (USA,Canada,UK,Australia,NZ,Singapore,Hong Kong & Malaysia).

We tested Reliance India Call this week to see how good is the voice quality compared to some of the other cheap international calls to India Providers such as MediaRingTalk , LocalPhone etc. I must say Voice Quality is excellent as good as your landline phone, however when it comes to cost Reliance India Call is definately not the cheapest call service for India.

The normal calling rate for India on Reliance India Call is 7.9 cents/min which is extremely high compared to other VOIP Providers. However, they are currently running a promotion during Diwali season which lets you make calls at 5.1 cents/min. WAIT, don't fall for this yet. We did a bit more investigation and found that 5.1 cents per mins only applied for recharge or new accounts and secondly, its only available if you call a Reliance phone line in India. Whoa, Reliance India Call is basically ripping you off when they say Reliance to Reliance is 5.1 cents lol, they route via their own private SIP network which cost them nothing. They could have easily lower this down to 1-2 cents per minute.

Let me share a insider story that most of you guys wouldn't know. I met up with CEO of one of the large VOIP provider, he told me that they buy minutes from Reliance at 1.50 cents per minute (wholesale rate). Now you know what happens behind the scene and who charges you want. These E1 rates never go mainstrem, I know everyone wants to make profit but Reliance India Call can always offer at around 2 cents per minute using their own reliance international calling network.

Reliance India Call also has promotion Coupons and Codes which come up once in a while. If anyone has information regarding Reliance India Call Promotion Coupons please share with everyone.

Overall, we feel Reliance India Call is probably not worth your money unless they start offering calls to India at 2 cents per minute or close to that.

If you are a existing Reliance India Call user do let us know your feedback.

Get Free Anonymous Incoming Phone Number and Call Forwarding

Do you want to expose your phone number online? Never. How about a VOIP forwarding service which lets you pick a phone number and forward it to your mobile/Landline and lets you deal anonymously?

In USA alone, there are cases of Identity theft which are also related to your phone numbers, so giving out your home phone number or mobile number over the internet isn't really safe. Now stop worrying about it.

inumbr offers totally free incoming USA phone numbers, which you can call forward to your home/mobile number free.

Let's see how Inumbr actually works:

1) Go to inumbr

2) Now Click on Get a Free inumbr, You should see the following, Of course every time a new number is generated.

3) You now have option to chose the expiry of your free incoming number, the max is 1 month.
4) You should then enter your USA number where you would like your calls to be forwarded. If you like to add a secondary line, they would divert calls to this line if the primary number fails or unreachable.
5) There are a bunch of options under more call controls and worth checking. Best is don't accept calls from telemarketers :-)

iNumbr is a must have if you have activity online which requires you to reveal your phone number now no one can really bother you, you can always disconnect the service even before the expiry of the free phone number.

Give them a try, Its FREE and its worthwhile.

LocalPhone adds more countries to Cheap International Calls Service

LocalPhone is surely one of those startups which stands out in today's competitive cheap international calls market. The only reason is they have access numbers which makes it one of the most easiest cheap international call service to use today.

Finally they added my country, Singapore to the list and that's not all, In total LocalPhone has added over 41 countries to their service. In USA, they have added 80 new location and access numbers across 21 states

What this means is you can now get local access numbers to make cheap VOIP Calls on the go. With over 66000 access numbers all across the world, Local Phone is perhaps the biggest access number based VOIP service in the world.

We wrote a post on Local Phone a few days back, which should get you started.

Local Phone has a sleek interface and the best part is if you switch countries you can change your access number on the fly from your dashboard, which will immediately let you make calls locally in that country. For e.g If you're travelling, work in a different area code, or just want to share your account with friends and family in a different city or country it's easy to get a new list of local access numbers at any time. Just log in to your Localphone account and update "Your Location" in the dashboard sidebar.

I am sure most of you have difficulty to understand how Local Phone actually works.

1) You have a friend in India whom you want to call but you live in London
2) You signup at Local Phone
3)Now go to dashboard, Add your landline/Mobile phone from where you will be calling Local Phone Access number. That means, they won't ask your for PIN code each time.
4)Now add your friend's number, Local Phone will immediately assign a local UK (London) number for you to call.
5) Now Pickup your phone and dial that london access number.
6) Your friend's phone will start to ring and now start talking.

Local Phone offers very competitive rates if not the most cheapest. India is at around 5 cents per minute, not bad.

We received a lot of good feedback about this service and now since it's available for me in Singapore, am going to use it more often. If you are a existing user, please let us know your comments on the overall Quality/Service and reliability of LocalPhone.

IndaFon Offers Cheap International Calls

Lately many VOIP Providers are either moving to advertisement based VOIP model or cheap international calls. There is a lot of competition in the market and with new VOIP Providers appearing almost every month, this will be huge in the coming days.

In this extremely competitive market, we have a new cheap VOIP provide IndaFon. IndaFon promises to offer cheap international calls to all over the world. Although, their rates are not extremely competitive, we know a way to get free international calls from IndaFon.

We held several discussion with Indafon team over the last week and finally negotiated the best free international calls deal in favour of our readers. When you sign up to IndaFon, you need to put our promo code voipguide in the Promo Code Box. This will give you 15 minutes of free calls immediately.

How do I get more free international calls Credit?
Thanks to Indafon's referral system. You can go and invite you friends. When your invited friends signs-up, for each new member you will get 10 minutes of free international calls. The invited person gets 10 minutes free at the same time.

That means the more friends you bring under your invite, you will get 10 mins of free international call credit.

Indafon is purely a PC to Phone calling service. You need to use the flash phone they have under the account page.

We really wish Indafon was Phone to Phone Service, a lot of people seem to like it even though they pay for both legs of the call. Its easy and it works! We already communicated our feedback so lets hope they add this feature soon.

Overall Indafon is really cool when it comes to their interface. You might get a bit lost with all the flash around and it takes some time to settle down.

Do try them out and remember promo code "voipguide" for getting free international calls.
